Maintaining the Highest Health Standards

In a post-COVID-19 world, sanitation is critical.

Harrison Bay Senior Living is dedicated to your health and safety, which is why we have instituted new protocols and cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Ensuring our tenants and residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our first priority.

Our community is following the recommendations of the CDC on prevention steps, including following strict handwashing procedures, and will wear gowns and gloves when interacting with tenants who present symptoms. We also are staying up to date with the CDC recommendations as they may continue to change. In addition, we are in close contact with the local and state health department, and we are following their guidance.

The CDC has done a careful review of the death rate in the elderly, especially those with dementia or chronic diseases. Experts are recommending we take action to limit individuals from entering our building and to ensure sick employees stay home. We offer hand washing and alcohol-based hand sanitizer stations throughout the building. We exercise proper hand washing hygiene as well as coughing and sneezing etiquette and avoid shaking hands and hugs with any individual. Our residents are encouraged to stay home as we offer additional support as needed with virtual visits, organizing the delivery of essential items, and providing engaging activities within their own apartments or small groups.

We are providing daily health screens for all residents, and have increased sanitizing and disinfecting protocols. The apartments have individual heating and cooling systems so the residents aren’t having to share duct work with their neighbors, this also helps reduce the spread of infection. Residents are socially distanced and wear masks when outside of their apartment and we encourage frequent handwashing.  The vaccine for COVID-19 is being rolled in out ou community and will be offered to residents, staff and essential caregivers.

The current COVID-19 outbreak situation means that it is critical that we take every precaution possible to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Applebees outing for lunch today - Good food, better company!

This week is a great time to reflect on the needs of DeafBlind people as it is Helen Keller DeafBlind Awareness Week. Hellen Keller is a disability rights advocate, author, political activist, and lecturer who lost her sight and hearing very early in her life. Despite the tremendous challenges, she was able to learn reading and writing with the help of a teacher and became the first DeafBlind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Let’s promote equal opportunities for all by being sensitive to the challenges faced by DeafBlind people. See MoreSee Less
